Founded in 2024 by designer Jeff Press, Press is a New York-based luxury eyewear brand built around a simple idea: beautiful materials, thoughtful construction, and eyewear that feels as good as it looks.
The Vision Behind Press Eyewear
Jeff Press has spent decades immersed in the world of independent luxury eyewear. Beginning his career with Robert Marc NYC in 1996, he later became the designer of Morgenthal Frederics and Chief Creative Officer for Robert Marc NYC. Along the way, he developed a deep appreciation for exceptional materials and meticulous craftsmanship, eventually becoming known for his innovative work with natural materials, including buffalo horn. In 2024, he brought this experience together to create his own namesake collection: Press Eyewear.
Press reflects Jeff’s belief that eyewear should be more than simply functional. Inspired by artists, music, fashion, automotive design, and the icons and eras that have shaped him, the collection takes familiar influences and transforms them into sculptural, modern eyewear. The result is a distinctly American aesthetic that feels confident, individual, and timeless.
Materials Take Centre Stage
One of the things that immediately sets Press Eyewear apart is its approach to materials. Rather than hiding the character of each material, the designs allow it to become part of the story. Press works with premium materials including Japanese bio-acetate, titanium, buffalo horn, and wood, with an emphasis on quality, comfort, and more responsible material choices.
The collection also demonstrates an incredible attention to construction. Many Press frames are handcrafted in Japan and feature details such as custom hinges, titanium components, precious-metal plating, and carefully considered wirecores.
