We’re excited to announce that we have a new independent eyewear designer at Sphere! Thierry Lasry, a brand worn by Beyonce, Rhianna, Madonna (need we say more…) is at the height of fashion featuring clear lines, geometrical shapes, and unexpected colour. Read below to learn more about this new French collection.

Thierry Lasry is a born and raised Parisian who grew up in the 1980s with an optician father and a designer mother. All these elements combined have influenced his role as a visionary eyewear craftsman, taking much inspiration from 80s toys, such as Playmobil and Lego, and Japanese cartoons that were popular on French TV. He had a passion for colours and geometric shapes and quickly found fascination in the exuberance of fashion.

All Thierry Lasry designs are handmade with the highest quality craftsmanship using only acetate from the top Italian manufacturer, Mazzucchelli. Most of the frames have a second layer on the back of the frame fronts giving them a sculptural aesthetic, and each design speaks for itself without branding or labeling. Lasry believes renowned Parisian style combined with his unique designs would attract anyone in search of a strong self-identity – a revolutionary idea in “a fashion world obsessed with branding.”

As in his own name, Lasry likes to play with the Y to name his designs: “Sexxxy, Orgasmy, Wavvvy, Gambly, etc.” Look for one of these fun names and the Theirry Lasry designs now housed at Sphere!
