Hello! I’m Danielle!
I’m originally from Waterloo, Ontario, and graduated from the Doctor of Optometry program at the University of Waterloo with honours. Since then, I moved to Alberta, and I’ve been fortunate to practice in a variety of environments, from suburban neighbourhoods to rural communities. I enjoy comprehensive vision care, and I’m particularly interested in dry eye and ocular surface disease management, nearsightedness control for children, and glaucoma detection and therapy.
I have fully completed the certification modules through the Institute of Functional Medicine and received my certification as a health coach in 2022 through the Wellcoaches organization. I had the pleasure of serving my profession as a board member of the Alberta Association of Optometrists from 2016 to 2020. I continue to be an active member of our provincial association.
My heart work includes the Fit to Read Project, an initiative I created to connect books with kids in need and to help create a community of joyful, confident readers. I also enjoy mentoring high school and university students. When I’m not at work, I love to spend time with my husband and 2 kids, get my heart rate up with a good run, and relax with a good book and a hot cup of coffee. I love what we do at Sphere, and I hope to connect with you soon!
